Of all our destinations Phuket (or Patong Bay in our case) was the biggest disappointment. We were docked a LONG way from the main destination of Phuket City (on the other end of the island) and we were only here for the day (departure time 4:00 p.m.). The least expensive excursion offered by the ship was an excursion "Phuket on your Own", a transfer into the Robinson Shopping Mall for $35.00 US ea which gave you approximately 2 1/2 hours of free time with a bus ride ...

... backpacks in midday sun is not amusing...which is also we got the first cheap accommodation we came across! We got our own bungalow for 4 each a night, it wasn't the most glamorous but it did the job!
