    Another gem in our National Parks system, Steamtown tells the story of the role that steam railroading played in the development of our country. The park occupies 40 acres of the Scranton, Pennsylvania railroad yard of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, once one of the largest rail yards in the country. At its peak it employed 4000 workers and had bays to service 40 steam locomotives at one time.

    ... 1 hour trip as we run into two bridges out for repairs and a road closure. Thank you PA! Lucky for us, the setting was bucolic and centered on a huge lake with lots of picnic sites, hiking trails, and camping areas.     ... been the cause. We decided that Tom and Sam would need to say there overnight to fix the bike and that we'd meet up with them in Niagara Falls. It was a bit gutting, especially as we'd only done 36 hours as it was already 6pm. We set off as soon as we could to try and get back on track.
