Travel Blogs from Corralejo
We spend the morning walking through the local streets, along the promenade and on the beach.
We pick up the car in the afternoon and head off to Cottillo on the NW corner. A pleasant fishing village that reminds us of Greek Islands.
In the evening we eat in a Tapas Restaurant which is part owned by an English man. The food is good but more expensive than most
We arrive at Puerto del Rosario at 07.00 and take a taxi to Corraleja. The apartments reception does not open until 8 am so we leave our bags in the luggage store and have a coffee in the restaurant. We report to check in and are upgraded to a seafront apartment which is great.
We enjoy breakfast in the La Luna restaurant and then …
... they are brilliant, my son had the time of his life and even got a certificate for best driver of the day.
The weather was lovely and the people friendly. We both had a great time.
(sorry these reviews are short, I'm running out of steam and just want to get started on the main article)
I decided a night in Puerto del Rosario might be good for a change of scene and I had an early flight in the morning. I probably should have listened more to what I'd been told, it's more industrial and not so enjoyable. Still it was a transit stop that helped me get to the airport in plenty of time, the bus being much more efficient than I'd expected.
Landing at the airport I quickly found that they only had one ATM and it was out of order and there was nowhere to exchange cash. So rather than getting the bus I was lumped with a taxi.
It was a small bump in what was a chilled five days in the little town of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. It's a kiteboarding and surfing paradise so not quite my cup of tea but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe ...
