... they are brilliant, my son had the time of his life and even got a certificate for best driver of the day.
The weather was lovely and the people friendly. We both had a great time.

I decided a night in Puerto del Rosario might be good for a change of scene and I had an early flight in the morning. I probably should have listened more to what I'd been told, it's more industrial and not so enjoyable. Still it was a transit stop that helped me get to the airport in plenty of time, the bus being much more efficient than I'd expected.
Landing at the airport I quickly found that they only had one ATM and it was out of order and there was nowhere to exchange cash. So rather than getting the bus I was lumped with a taxi.
It was a small bump in what was a chilled five days in the little town of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. It's a kiteboarding and surfing paradise so not quite my cup of tea but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe ...
... fruit... Lazing by the pool, we topped up our tan and I even managed to get sunburnt feet! Although cold, the pool was a welcome place to cool-off.
Soaking up every last ray of sunshine, we didn't head to dinner until 8.30pm and walked along the gorgeous water front, back to Playa Cucharas for my birthday dinner - the waiter treated me to a sparkler in my drink (just like at Valentines haha). Our last day ...
... Today we're catching the brand spanking new Edinburgh trams to the airport! What an experience, they are so fast and flash and run almost door-to-door for us. Kev is convinced that the tram bells sounds like the McDonalds beeping timers, and talks about how hungry he is the whole way!
After a 4.5 hours, we have survived the Ryan Air flight and land in the volcanic island that is Lanzarote. It is far from pretty, but an incredible landscape to look over, almost lunar like. ...
