Yesterday morning, our first day here, we are awake at 6am and Mick sets out to forage for breakfast. He returns with the gloomy news that neither of the nearby restaurant or shop will be open before 11am. This is a catastrophe.

... a campsite in Portoroso. But on heading there, the sat nav in the car decided to die and left us flailing for directions on a Slovenian motorway. Even the internet wouldn't work for directions on the charged tablet. Um, paper map... Anyone?!! Today we went Koper. Koper was a tiny village. It had a bell tower which we went up. It was a bit steep.
