... from such a thing? A coffee shop or two, a restaurant / snack bar here and there would be okay, we often hung out for a place to stop and refuel but found nothing. Some of the little isolated areas could certainly do with the employment opportunities. Again there were dozens of WW1 Cemeteries around Ypres we could have visited but we try to pick the most relevant or interesting. ... videotaped the ceremony thank goodness! I will share with you later. The Menin Gate - is a memorial to all British and commonwealth soldiers (except New Zealand and Newfoundland) that have no known grave - over 55,000!!! The ceremony has taken place every evening at 8pm since 1927 - except during German occupation during WWII. It was standing room only at the ceremony this evening Looong day - looking forward to bed ...

... wont find your self choosing a bad place to have a beer if you come here, (apart from 'the pub', its the English one which says it all).

The next day we woke up to no hangover, as the beers had no additives in them, and went out to see more of Brugge's sites.
Brugge is full of chocolate shops, and as easter is coming up, they all had really impressive Easter displays. The best chocolate shop to go to in my opinion is called ...

... but would have been quicker if with us. We made our way round to the sea lock and again had to wait ages. The lock opened and we went in. This was different again as it had a floating plank on each the side of the lock which gave a funny sensation and of course our fenders were not at the right height! A police boat came into the lock with us and as they came in, the movement on the water was like being at sea – most peculiar. We don't understand ...
