    ... to look around. We stop and ask an old women's for directions. She speaks highly accented Italian and I think she has loose false teeth, but she confirms "sinistra" (left) and "poi destra" (then right), and we realise we have climbed too far. We soon find the station. First I buy the tickets for us on the helpful machine which speaks English if you ask it to.     ... a wedding, there are the cloisters, therefectory, Chapter house, wine cellars including a wine making museum. The hotel building is in the same style as the monastic buildings, and our room is spacious and pleasant. The staff, however are all women who seem the have undergone a charisma-ectomy. The appear to be inexperienced and perhaps overworked. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is unremarkable. More to come + ...
