... dry. After Bologna the scenery has changed to beautiful rolling hills with hilltop towns and vineyards. Just how we'd imagined it. It was raining hard in Florence but it was really a passing storm and in Rome the weather is clearer and humid - about 28 degrees. ( We found out later that this storm had been very destructive on the vineyards). We are starting to see how the "Tout" system works. ... the airport was frantic with people, bags and traffic but we finally were in the taxi speeding down the freeway on our way to our hotel, believe me when I say speeding, he was going 120 - 130K it was a bit interesting, we didn't think he was that good a driver. All the lights from the towering buildings took our minds of things as we tried to work out the land marks, the buildings are all lit up in ...

... can come and celebrate mass at any of the other altars. Outside we see the verandah where the Pope appears at Easter and Christmas to /give his message and each Sunday we see the window where he dispenses his blessing from. After lunch it was off to the Colosseum. Another amazing sight. I actually cant believe I have been here and visited these places. It is quite well preserved. Under the wooden stage floor was a complicated structure of rooms and ...
