After catching the bus from Hanoi to Haiphong then a 2 and a 1/2 hour slow boat ride to Cat Ba Island we moved straight into our pre-booked hotel, the Duc Tuan Hotel. After initial confusion about the agreed upon arrival date we found the owner to be incredibly accommodating and helpful.
