Smoky smell
from A TripAdvisor User on 2006-04-25
For 70 Euro's a night it was a large room with a good location if you have an early flight out of Dublin. The hotel is located in a small town called Swords, which has got a selection of resturants to grab a bite. The room we requested was non smoking but the smell of smoke was overwhelming. The bed was soft and no breakfast was included though there is an onsite facility to get breakfast/dinner.
Dog Friendly - Pet Owners Note!
from A TripAdvisor User on 2006-03-07
We've stayed half a dozen times and would do so again, espcially when travelling with our dog. This is a basic hotel, clean and comfortable, unpretentious and not luxurious. It is good value for money. The long corridors comented on by other reviewers are a drawback if you're shifting heavy baggage - if this will be a problem, and if booking ahead, a room close to the reception should be asked for. The reception staff are kind and friendly - but one must first realise that in Irelend an offhand and somewhat uncouth manner is not necessarily meant to convey discourtesy. Travelodge would be well advised to invest in a one-day "Charm School" course for its personnel if the wrong impression is not to be given by basically likeable people. The best news about this hotel is that it accepts dogs - which very few hotels in Ireland do, and which is a reason why dog-owners from the UK and elswewhere should think twice about holidays in Ireland. The "Little Chef" restaurant attached to the hotel specialises in high-chlorestrol cooking - though acceptable for the odd breakfast, it is best avoided by the health-conscious for any more extensive dining. Note that thought this is billed as an Airport Hotel it is really only convenient for the airport if one is travelling by car, and, due to the road layouts, one would otherwise be quite isolated there, even from the nearby Swords Shopping Centre.
DON'T DO IT!
from FunOverload on 2005-10-05
I bet you're thinking of saving some money, convenient to the airport, and after all how different can one airport hotel be from another? Well, our advice is, don't do it! First of all, 'Airport' hotel in this case doesn't imply anything with respect to getting to the airport, because there is no shuttle (either paid or free). It's a 10-pound cab ride -- and that's only if you're traveling TO the airport. If you're coming FROM the airport, double that amount. That's right, we paid the equivalent of $36 U.S. to travel the two miles or so to the hotel. Combine that with the $18 cab the other way, and you can see that the other airport hotel (right on the airport grounds) is a far, far better deal. As for the room itself: a severely torn couch greeted us, and the shower never got beyond 'dribble' (and we'd just traveled all around Ireland, so we're keeping that in perspective). Avoid!
Room for 1!!!!
from Jmay on 2005-03-12
Stayed one night, 1 towel and 1 cup in the room despite being told the room was for 3!!!! Extremely difficult to locate with the directions from the travelodge/superbreaks website. Glad I got a good deal with Superbreaks though!!! We were right at the back of the hotel, last room and got no sympathy at having to lug heavy bags up stairs to the room - no lifts!!!!
Good Place to Stay If You Have an Early Flight out The Next Day
from Factory_Reject on 2004-12-01
This is not a fancy hotel. It is very clean and the trip to the airport is very short. I stayed with my wife and two children. There was one double bed and a Full size couch that made into two separate twin beds. There was a trundle under the couch that pulled out. This was perfect for us because my children do not like sleeping together.
When you are looking for the Travelodge off the roundabout keep an eye out for the "The Little Chef" restaurant sign. It is much larger than the Travelodge sign and easier to spot.
We ate dinner at the Little Chef and the food was OK but not great. They were out of a lot of things on the menu. It was not our best meal in Ireland.
I would recommend this hotel if you have an early flight the next day and don't want to worry about navigating Dublin traffic on your way to the airport.
Nice Quiet Hotel
from A TripAdvisor User on 2004-10-09
I've stayed at the Travelodge numerous times while travelling from Dublin to other destinations. It's a very comfortable, clean and quiet place. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated in calming blue.
The Little Chef restaurant attached to the hotel is a bit 'greasy' but quite convenient and almost comforting when you're travelling. It's open till 10pm and you get a 10%-off voucher to use there from the reception (if you're a guest at the hotel).
The lobby is equipped with a few good vending machines and the staff are very helpful. There's a handy phone in the lobby that connects you directly to a taxi service.
The only drawback is that the rooms I've been assigned tended to be at the end of a long corridor with a couple of heavy doors in between. It was kind of hard to navigate with my luggage in the narrow corridor and open the doors at the same time.. also there's no elevator to the 2nd floor, so make sure you request a ground floor room if you have a lot of luggage.
Other than that I really can't complain!
OK Airport hotel
from Stackman97 on 2004-08-20
If you need a hotel somewhat close to the airport this hotel is fine. It is clean and has large rooms along with "Denny's" type of restaurant next to the lobby. Cab fair to the airport is resonable.
Great Price
from Jdehaan on 2004-08-04
We got a great price at this location booking online. Close to airport, good for early flights. Room was clean, walking distance to shops and resturant. If we are back in the area we will stay here.
Ideal for early flights.

Stayed on 25th April. Flying to Texas on 26th. To be at airport for 6.00a.m. Our smoking room was spacious and served the purpose for an overnight. Had tea and coffee making facilities. Very reasonable pricewise. Receptonist was cheery and efficient. Got voucher for 20% off bill in Little Chef. Was able to fly off while others went back and used the voucher for breakfast. This little motel is ideal for early morning flights. Saved a 90 minute journey and having to be up at a very early time. Able to go into Swords for a night's entertainment. Made for a pleasant stay.
Nice bed- shame about the legs and wheels!!
from Dearhart on 2003-05-27
Arrived and son fell off bed- a leg missing altogether. curtains hanging off track that wasn't attached to wall. Corridors like a mine field in the mornings- had to climb over the piles of dirty linen. Couldnt get into hotel at weekend- locked due to lack of staff. Day we left I fell off the bed- top of bed been supported by the Bible throughout our stay. Little Chef attached also short of staff and the continental breakfast came in fits and starts and the service was so slow.Complaint still ignored after 2 weeks.
