We hebben hier lekker gegeten. Je kan hier ook roken bij de bar, dat is wel prettig vooral als je op de luchthaven moet wachten.

    Quality Hotel with convenience

I stayed in this hotel as we were transferring terminals in Dubai between Canada and Afghanistan. It is conveniently located in the middle of the airport and you don't need a travel visa to stay here. Right on top of all of the duty free shops (it's like a huge mall actually!). I think this is a very good hotel and all of the amenities were decently priced and the room was well appointed with everything you could want.

Beautiful Flight! We flew over the full of Russia, directly over Moscow, and Lovograd. It was daylight so could see quite a bit, also flew over Iran. The sun set a few minutes after we landed in Dubai. Spending the night at the. Dubai Intl Hotel, right in the airport. This place is massive.

... the front gates, and I was rather disappointed that we only got to see the Palm resort hotel as we rounded the corner to carry on to the mosque. I think perhaps the best way to see that would be to fly over it in a helicopter. Grassy areas here are at a premium and there are very few parks. It was amusing to see that the people here make the best of what they've got and one group of men were playing a game of cricket in a concrete car ...

I wasn't quite ready to leave South East Asia - I'd had to completely cut out Laos from my itinerary and there was still a lot of thai food with my name on it. However, I shall return one day.

Next stop: Dubai, aka the hottest place on Earth, to visit Alice and her family. I arrived smack bang in the middle of summer and the middle of Ramadan. I really don't think I could survive a whole month of it (if ...

... cancer (decaying concrete). I hate to think what it will look like in a few years. I also got an insight into local driving habits and am guessing a key question on any driving test goes something like this. When driving you should A- sound the horn at regular intervals B- sound the horn intermittently C- sound the horn intermittently (at regular intervals) D- all of the above Clearly the answer is D. If I get a chance I will upload a few of Sharon's pics from her tour. Next stop ...
