... the navigating. The navigating I can do, but reading and saying the French names I can't !! We had 15 kms to go so we set off on busier roads, then through villages and then got lost!! We must have missed a turn because we found ourselves back on the busy road instead of the bike path. However as that was an alternative way into St Malo, we decided to take it. We knew our hotel was on the beach front so abandoned the directions and followed ...

... right to the door to the town. There were people around but it was deserted compared with the previous day. We spend a bit of time taking photos and watching the sun trying to rise and then as we turned to go the shuttle buses were letting off waves of people. We rode on the bike path again through lanes lined with trees, maize fields and farm ...

Our itinerary says 48 kms today from Fougeres to Pontorson. This morning we were treated to 20 kms of cycle paths through pretty farm land and acres and acres of maize fields. There were a few locals running, biking or walking their dogs but in general really quiet and lovely. It looked like it may have been a rail way track in years gone by and there was the odd tunnel but otherwise no sign of any tracks. Our first stop was at Antrain where we ended up coming into town completely the ...

... down for a 1:30 train ride. About halfway through the ride they announced that people going to Lison to get connections needed to get off one city early. It didn't really matter because the same exact train we were going to get on the same train we were going to get on in Lison. Once we got on we rode for 2 hrs and got off in the town of ponterson. We hopped on the bus we needed along with a lot of little ...

... so this was my chance.

With the help of 'Doris' our trusty sat nav and armed with my 'all the aires' book we found our aire on the outskirts of St Malo no problem at all........but we soon discovered that our 'open all year round' aire was closed!! Whilst we pondered what to do next and I got the 'that's another fine mess you've got us in to' look we were approached by a lovely old french monsieur who was ...
