Nice hotel, not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. But it was a good price, had free wi-fi, free breakfast, we could park our car for the duration of our trip, and there's a shuttle to the airport.

... I am not happy about it, i will definitely be making some form of complaint. (Avoid Netflights.com people).

On the way back i actually used an Interstate and I think i was doing fairly well until we got right round the corner from the accommodation and I did my first 'drive on the wrong side of the road' moment. I pulled out of a side road to turn left and immediately I shouted at the Sat Nav 'oh great its taken me the wrong way down a one way street' as ...

... bush kangaroo and the highlight of the day, the Gorillas. We were close up and they were very interactive, fighting with each other (playfully) and performing for us watching and several times jumping and smashing themselves into the glass where we were standing!! The best thing about this zoo is all the animals are very close, and being in potentially a very cold environment, there is outside viewing, plus behind the enclosure viewing where they are inside their "homes". The ...

... to escape the crowd and heat.

On the drive home we were somehow still hungry so we stopped and had a slice and some twirly garlic bread and a bunch of freshly made beignets. This combined with some home made brownies and ice cream perfectly topped off the day.

Next morning as we were about to head into the city, the heavens opened with sheet rain and hail. We managed to make it to the burger ...

So Zac, our new best friend, takes Graham up to the hallowed ground and I stay with the security folk, planning the next move.

It appeared that there was a nice tall building nearby with a viewing floor and one of these glass ledges you can hang out on for a minute or two. It was worth the wait to see Graham white-knuckle for his turn on the ledge! I think they are still trying to ...
