Ventured out early today to try and beat the Elvis Fanatics at Gracelands...we got there about 0830 and got a good park and by the time we got inside and sorted we were on the shuttle to run us across the road the Gracelands 40 min later..Lucky we went when we did because it just got busier and busier..Its all run really well, I guess they have …
This is Tim Trankle, and you may notice that this post is a day late. That is because we do not have internet connectivity at the moment and we are typing this as a word document. Anyway, we spent the day in Memphis! It all started out with a three hour bus ride which was very tiring. At one point, I think I fell asleep, and was woken up by a movie …
Today was day three of our trip to the south. To start off we had to endue a three hour drive from Nashville to Memphis, Tennessee. Many of us played games like Words with Friends, it was an intense battle. We also watched a documentary on the bus featuring MLK.
Once we reached our destination, we had an audio tour at the Rock & Soul …
Waking up at 5:30 this morning was quit a hassel. We as teenagers NEED our sleep so waking up really early in the morning kills our brains. Three hours after departing we arrived in Memphis, Tennessee! Exploring through the Rock n' Soul Museum was an experience no one will ever forget. Watching everybody head banging to the great music was so funny …
I awoke this morning knowing that this day was going to be 460 miles. The route, intended to get us home quickly would follow the interstate from time to time. However we would by going much of the way through the Missouri Highway system following the Mighty Mo.
Navi awoke this morning warning of flash floods in the area. I printed the route …

Historical Traveler Reviews Drury Inn & Suites Memphis Northeast
Terrific Stay at the Drury Inn!
We enjoyed our stay immensely at the Drury. It was clean and we had a very comfortable bed/pillows. You can't beat the ammenities--free hot breakfast (very good), free Internet access, free snacks/drinks! It was very community oriented and people actually hung out in the lounge! The only reason I didn't give it an excellent review is that we had a handicap accessible room and I wanted to switch, but it wasn't possible.
The Drury Inn offers you just about anything a hotel can. Free parking, free drinks and snacks during the evening, free hot breakfast (waffles, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc.), free high speed internet access, free 60 minutes of long distance phone use per night, and an indoor pool. All this for a Memorial Day weekend rate under $80! The room was clean, quiet, and well kept. The bathroom was also clean. Plus an easy checkout that allows you to just leave you keys in the room and go. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, however, and it will take you about 20 minutes to drive to downtown Memphis.
First Stay at Drury Inn
This was our first trip to Memphis so I checked Trip Advisor before making
reservations. It was so much more that I expected. The rooms were very
clean with plenty of towels! The parking was more secured than any place
I've stayed. I like the card key entry system. My husband and I relaxed
in the Hot Tub before retiring for the night. The beds were very comfortable.
The hot breakfast was very tasty, which was served until 9:30am.
I also like the 12:00 checkout time. The staff at the front desk, dining area,
and housekeeping were all very polite and accomodating. I will try to stay
at a Drury Inn on all of our future trips.
A really enjoyable stay
This hotel lived up to its reviews from earlier users, from the cleanliness of the whole place to the superb choice at breakfast and the drinks/ appetizers in the evenings. We could not fault this hotel, staff were pleasant and helpful, it was in a good location, indoor pool was lovely. We would definetly stay here again on our next trip.
Would go back to Drury
Clean, comfortable, great breakfast, good neighborhood, good value. Hotel more secure than most. Only negatives were the night desk clerk with a surly attitude and a hillbilly who tried to con us in the hotel driveway. (Not the hotel's fault.)
Every aspect of our stay in this hotel was excellent, from checking-in to checking-out. Rooms were clean and cosy and the hot breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from. Complimentary popcorn was provided and the pool looked inviting although we did not have the time to go for a dip. Prices were good and the hotel was a good base to start from if visiting Memphis.
Very clean, comfortable room. Affordable rate. Good breakfast. Staff were efficient and friendly. I'm glad that I stayed there and would definitely stay there again.
Absolutely loved it
We absolutely loved this hotel. Stayed 4 nights, 5 days. Nice, comfortable, attractive, clean room. Had a refrigerator and also a microwave. Loved the daily free hot breakfast for the customers...delicious. We will definitely stay at the Drury when we make our now-annual trip to Memphis. Recommend this hotel very highly. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Chaundra.
A Very Good Value
Consistently I find this hotel a great value. It is clean, the staff is friendly, reservations are handled well and it's always a good experience for me. I've stayed here about a dozen times in the last two years.
Top Rate Experience
After reading the reviews on numerous hotels in Memphis(scary), I decided to go with my instincts based on stays at other Drury hotels in my own state. WOW! This hotel was excellent in service, accomodations and price. I will definately stay at this hotel again and again!
