      ... I said VCU, he got so excited! The pretty girl sitting next to him (Kenzie) also graduated from VCU the same semester and was now going to do work with him in Alabama. They were so friendly and Zev was certainly outgoing, my kinda people. I ended up spending most of my time at PSO with them.

      ... on the sow. So the ingots were called pigs, or piglets, and the cooled metal in the channel was called the sow.

      One thing that was mentioned at both the Vulcan Museum and the Sloss Furnaces was that limestone was needed as a "flux" for the pig iron process. What did the "flux" do? I learned that here at Sloss! The non-iron residue of the iron ore and coke would pile up as ash in the bottom of the furnace ...

      So as many of you know, I have kept Ginger in the dark about our 15 year anniversary trip and tomorrow she wil find out. I assume at this point it will be revealed when we check in at the gate or when the security guard asks here "Ma'mm where you going today and what is your business...". Hoping for the former.
