Arrived in Amarillo - cleaned up and asked the receptionist where I could get a cold beer and something to eat.
Recommendation - The Big Texan Steakhouse. Even better, was the Limousine service which picked you up and dropped you back to the hotel - no need to ride. Great!

        Then we came upstairs.

So not the most exciting day in the world, but Texas is so freaking huge, that even after twelve hours in a car, we're not even close to being out of the state, but we're getting there.

        So that was Day One.

Overall, an okay day, not the most exciting day, but a necessary day.

... so looking forward to driving it (especially after watching the Billy Connolly show about it) but it is nearly impossible to follow exactly and basically we are not impressed! We have pretty much decided to do the next section to Albuquerque, and then we are going to give the rest a miss and do some sightseeing!
