Historical Traveler Reviews of Drumossie Inverness
Poor hotel choice
from aberdeen99
I stayed on business in October. The rooms are impressive to look at however my heating wasnt working and there were pubic hairs in my bed!! Not what I expect from a hotel of this standard. On check out I was told it would be an additional £3 to pay by credit card and when I checked my bill upon my return home I found an additonal £1 had been deducted under the heading of 'charity donation' to which charity I dont know I was never asked if I wanted to make a donation! I have recieved my visa bill today and have discovered they have charged me twice for my stay!! The hotel is quite far out of town so you would really need a car to stay there.
Fantastic food
from Sandaig
We stayed at The New Drumossie Hotel in August with our 2 young children, I was a little apprehensive as there was no childrens menu and it did not really seem child friendly - however we really enjoyed our stay - the waiting staff were really great - and the chef made the children whatever they wanted for dinner and it was presented really well. The rooms were really comfortable too - would go back for the food and the ambience

Attending Wedding
from CarrieQ
Stayed at this hotel as we were attending a wedding on the premises.
Check In
We were unable to check in until 5pm as the room was not ready. Arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm and kept being told try again in an hour, half an hour etc!! Even the mother of the bride couldn't check in to her room until nearly 5pm!! Not what you would expect from a four star hotel
Rooms
The room was spacious and in a good state of repair. The bathroom was lovely with a large separate shower.
Food
Very standard hotel mass produced food. Has a poor reputation in the Inverness area for its food.
Overall a pleasant stay. The gardens are lovely and the refurb is a definite improvement on how the hotel was before.
Mini Poland
from supercaley
Forgive me but I thought I had booked a room in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands of Scotland? NOT mini Poland.
Every member of staff we encountered were Polish which caused problems as their command of the English language was poor to say the least.
I dont mind paying over £200 a night when a property deserves as much, but one of the basics I expect is to be understood, in fact I have been to Poland , and the staff in Warsaw spoke better English than they do at the Drumossie, work that one out.

This is probably one of the nicest hotels I have been to. Situated on top of a hill with breathtaking views over the highlands, the rooms boast all kinds of comforts and special touches: Bath robes, complimentary slippers, television speakers in the bathroom, complimentary, water, chocolate and scotch from the hotel in the room. The rooms are beautifully furnished with elegant and clasic furniture and have broadband available for the guests in the rooms.
The restaurant is exceptional, beautifully decorated and serving a selection of mouthwatering dishes also beautifully presented and with a service to match.
The same applies to the breakfast, a fantastic selection and a good service.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone going on honeymoon or for a romantic getaway, I will definitely be back.
Fantastic Hotel, Location & Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
My friend had her wedding in Inverness on the 3rd of June this year, and it was just wonderful. The staff were polite & efficient. The location was just out of this world, windows from floor to ceiling in the main ballroom, and the bedrooms are luxurious! I must say a special mention to Louise(Assistant Manager) who made the family's stay very comfortable throughout the whole weekend stay.
Great rooms, poor service
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stay in Inverness twice a week on business and after trying a whole host of hotels and B&Bs, I consider the Drumossie offers the best bedrooms of all I've tried. Very comfortable, almost luxurious. Where the hotel lets itself down badly is in its lack of staff which leads to very slow but polite service. Despite the service I keep on going back. Only other thing missing is a swimming pool/leisure facility.
What a Pleasant Surprise
from A TripAdvisor Member
This lovely hotel is situated on top of a hill overlooking Inverness. It is just enough away from the center of town to be totally relaxing and quiet. We spent 2 days here and were pleased with everything. The hotel has just undergone an 8 million pound renovation and it shows. The staff was attentive and delightful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Fantastic

This hotel is great. When you arrive the outside does not represent the fantastic inside environment. The food, service, rooms and lounge are all great.
Refurbished and lovely
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel has recently re-opened after full refurbishment. I gather it was mediocre before so people need to know it is now very pleasant, indeed luxurious. The room was really fabulous and the staff were helpful. The waiting staff were struggling with the numbers at this big conference event, so dinner was distinctly Fawlty Towers-like, but I"m sure they will have sorted themselves out after that baptism by fire. The dinner - when it came - was very good although helpings were rather small.
