Departure day has finally arrived. After settling the dogs at the vet, we headed off for Galveston. We had an uneventful drive down with little traffic. The security and checking took a grand total of 15 minutes. We were 25 minutes early for boarding but there were already a couple hundred people ahead of us. We were in Boarding Group #3. Michael Lewis rode for Jonathon O'Malley who was a double cord blood recipient.

The event ended and after a potty break and lots of pictures it was time to start riding.

I convinced myself that riding without a jacket was a good decision and for once it was was - I usually way over dress in cool weather. I knew once we got in the sun and started riding I would warm up.
