... tan. And moving on!!!!

My friend Jim asked about the crises here. What crises? So far all I have seen is a few people lined up at the ATM’s. Greeks have a restriction of only being able to withdraw 60 Euro a day so they have to go to the machine often ( tourists still have no restrictions – well one, their bank balance). Apart from that you honestly wouldn’t know there were any problems. Tourist numbers maybe ...

... goats, and sheep. As soon as Elofonisi came into view, we knew that the drive had been worth it. The beach has several inlets of turquoise water, set off by the white and pink sand. This part of the island can have very strong winds, so we headed to the more protected side of the beach and found ourselves some 3.5 euro lounge chairs under tiki style umbrellas. From there on, the day slipped lazily by as we alternated people watching, gazing out at e ...

... fantastic seafood. At the end of the meal we were given free desserts and shots of vodka, an interesting way to end lunch! Kyle and I wandered the alleys a bit more before joining Ally and Blair back at e hotel for a rest. Tonight we plan on watching the sunset from the rooftop hot tub before heading to a restaurant in the city's old Turkish bath. We are already regretting only giving ourselves 3 days on this incredible ...

... Great walk. Beautiful scenery. A formed path most of the way and all downhill so easy. Came out the bottom about 3pm (I was a slow walker as some people did it in 4-5 hours) at a town called Agia Roumeli. A swim at the beach (deserved), and then a boat ride to the next town on the coast that had a road to it (Sougia) Then it was the bus back to Chania arriving at 9pm. Pretty full day. Tired but ...

Samaria Gorge - Kramer Style

... trail. As a result of our late departure, we had the hike almost entirely to ourselves. While we had heard the trip was incredibly crowded and hot, we saw no more than a few dozen hikers and a couple of donkeys. The first 2 hours were mostly down through shady groves of Cyprus pines which leveled out at about 400 meter above sea level. After learning from a pair of German hikers that the boat left at 5:30 rather than 5:45, we quickened our pace through the mostly ...
