Dubai was a place that never appealed to us as a holiday destination but thought it was one of those need to see places so decided it would be the perfect stopover on route to Delhi. We allocated only two days so had to squeeze in as much as possible. As soon as we arrived off the pleasant Quantus flight we changed from our trekking boots to flip …

We opted to sit outside because it was a beautiful day and then made our way to the buffet for lunch. This was by far the fanciest and nicest buffet lunch that we had ever been to. ... stairwell which was as the back of another hotel next to ours. More construction everywhere and could only walk along roped off pedestrian routes. It was like a maze that we couldn't get out of. Reeeaallyy hot and bothered now and not a bit of water or marina in sight! It was just there but couldn't get to it. Abandoned the Marina idea and finally found our way back to our hotel for lazing by the pool (will take a marina picture from the hotel window). Lots of swims till 2.00ish ...

... was great. The view was amazing. We could see the airport and every few minutes a plane would take off. We could see the monorail going past. And we could see the pool and gardens of the hotel. We decided we should have a swim at the pool. It was lovely lounging around in the leafy surroundings. There were lots of birds.  At 8 Sultan picked us up and we went to his restaurant. What a wonderful experience that was. It was a beautifully ...
