... The first of these was my brief return to the 'civilised’ world of the U-S of A for a week of fun in the sun with two of my best friends from home, Kate and Nick, in Florida. And of course, the only time when there are people waiting for me, it took TWO hours to get from the plane, through immigration to my baggage. It was agonising!

He was fabulous and got straight on the phone to reception and got us moved to a superb room on the 18th floor with magnificent views of Miami and the beach as well as a king bed, one day’s free internet and a proper coffee making machine! Sometimes it’s worth expressing your disappointment!
