Historical Traveler Reviews Drawbridge Hotel Fort Mitchell
Room smelled like stagnant urine. Waited over an hour for a cheeseburger at Chaucer's and the waitress never even came over to explain what the hold-up was or to say 'sorry'. Finally, I located her and asked when I should expect my cheeseburger. Her response, and I quote, "Oh, it's gonna be a while". I told her to keep it. Went to the front desk to ask where the nearest vending machines were since I would have to Doritos and a Milky Way for dinner. They said, "I'm sorry, the vending machines are just down the hall....."
Nice Hotel for the money
We stayed here last July to Visit Newport . We had a double room on the second floor over looking one of the outdoor pools . It was actually quite tranquil . The room had a back door and front door so it sort of felt like we had balcony .The rooms are like average hotel rooms but clean . I loved the fact they had a play area for the little kids and back that way there are more green trees back by the Garrison building . If it rains its good to know there is an indoor pool as well that you can enjoy .The coffee shop had a nice breakfast and it was about 10 minutes to the aquarium from there on the interstate. I got the aquarium package and got some meal tickets as well . I was quite pleased with the service . They have so many rooms that it was quiet because pretty much everyone is all spread out . If you like to walk around this hotel has plenty of space to do that. Can't wait to come back this July .
Wonderful place to stay!
Excellent! Wonderful place for families. Inclusive, you never have to leave the grounds if you chose not to, everything you need is right there, arcade, pools, salon, gift shop, flower shop, and 24-hour food. Best friend and godson from Georgia met my daughter and I there for a weekend getaway. Rooms were clean, maybe the motif was outdated but I can live with that as long as everything is clean! Door lock's battery died while we were at outside pool, cleaning lady who was on her way to lunch, gave me a towel to coverup with, then got a maintenance man to fix door. Within 10 minutes of being locked out of room I was back in. Entire staff was friendly and helpful! Booking again!
Could've been better
this place is just an average hotel. They try to portray it as being more than what it is. My t.v was turning on and off and my heat wasnt working but they got the maintenance in there in no more than 20 minutes after the complaint. The employees aren't the friendliest people, the jacuzzi had filthy water in it. Although they have decent package deals, I got the aquatic package and spent the day at the newport aquarium in cinn. ohio
all in all it was an okay trip, the drawbridge is nothing you want to do as a romantic weekend with a spouse. Believe Me!!! The rooms need to be updated badly. An update could do that place some justice.
If you just want to get away from home for a day, try the drawbride at your own risk!!!1
When I stayed there, their staff and service was extremely rude to us. Me and some friends decided to try to stay there for a relaxing getaway, which my father helped pay for. They kept on interagating us rudely, and threatend to both kick us out of the room AND charge my fathers card 3 hours after we checked in. What for? Just because were under 21. Even though my father ALREADY paied with his credit card and autorised us to stay there. If they wanted someone to sign, they should of did it when we checked in. Plus, my father already authorised us, which means they don't NEED a signiture. We later on called and debated this in a very kindly mannor. They accused as of LYING when we did not, and they were also rude to us then. I don't think it is fair in any way, especally since we were gonna be paying customors.
If you have children, DO NOT STAY HERE! If you leave, they WILL KICK YOUR CHILDREN OUT OF YOUR ROOM, and you as well, and you will be CHARGED for it as well.
This place is extremely nice, but the staff and their bogus policys totally ruin this place. If you plan on having children stay here while you leave for even a few hours, I defently do not recommend this place unless your children want to stay in the lobby for a few hours with all your stuff. Untill they change their policy, I will NEVER come back to this hotel again.
The kids loved it here
Stayed here with the family on a visit to the Newport Aquarium. Accomodations were nice. Indoor pool was lovely. Staff was friendly and helpful.
my wife wanted to suprise me for our 25 anniversy the pictures on the net looked plush little did we know it cost her 400.00 for a package deal for 2 nights . The room was an ordinary hotel room that had the extra bed removed & in its place they put in a chair, the windows overlooked the roof , but we did get an $ 8.00 bottle of champain & 2 bathrobes. The entertainment was suposed to be LIVE MUSIC & dancing but turned out to be a DJplaying 1950s & early 60s & a 10ft x 10ftdance floor The food at the gatehouse res. was over priced but the service was good, we had diarrhea all night , no kidding , it must have been something we ate their because we did not eat anyplace else that day.THE NEXT TIME WE WILL GO TO THE RED ROOF INN PS MY WIFE IS STILL CRYING

A day at the drawbridge
stranded with the airlines and arrived late in the day. Hotel seemed shaby but clean. The staff seemed like they hated to work there. The bellman seemed to almost be popping out of his ill fitting clothes as he was overweight and about to "get off'. Oh well at least the bed was comfy

Early on the morning of December 30, 2014 Bev and I leave for California. Then I'll continue on to Hong Kong and to the Philippines.
The main parts of the trip are as follows....
1. Fly to Los Angeles, visit with UCG elder Camilo Reyes and wife Aggie in Bakersfield
2. Visit long-time friend, John Meyer and wife Sharie in Tracy, California. He was my former boss at Ambassador Press in Bricket Wood years ago. A great ...
... thought provoking. Really neat to see.
Following our city tour. we made our way back to our hotel where we rested for a while then out for a simple soup and sandwich dinner at Panera. Wayne went out after dinner to do some shopping and I came back to chill out, relax and work on our blog. So, all in all a nice quieter day without hours on the road.
Tomorrow we saddle up once again for our drive through Kentucky to Nashville. Looking forward to ...
... and through Columbus, Ohio onwards to Cincinnati. Flat, rural farm country pretty much. We found our hotel which is very nice and settled in for some down time.
Unfortunately, a dinner at KFC ended up being a bad choice for us as Deb no sooner ate and within minutes she lost her entire meal. So we made ...
We have an early a.m. flight out of Las Vegas, connecting through Detroit. We had to run like heck to get our connection...it was in a different terminal. Back to Cincy around 6:40 p.m. Carol picks us up. It was good to be home, but the weather here is cold and ...
... next door. We had to climb a steep incline and go down two steps and up six steps to our room, along with our 40 lb.+ suitcase and carry-ons. The room was nice, but not worth the trouble.
We were hungry, and finally settled for McDonald's. We had sandwiches and, of course, ice cream. Ron walked down to Rite Aid to get us some wine and pop for our cruise. It was sort of a rough neighborhood, and he was happy to get out of ...
