... was very friendly and helpful. The local beer was very nice. Keo. The waiter showed us some other places on our map to go visit while we walked around. Had a look at a local fruit and vege market which was quite good but much the same as ours only with a few different products like dates, little fish etc. Headed back on the shuttle at 2pm which was long enough. Had a rest and then went to Oasis to watch sail out. Clocks back 1 hour and I don't know why.
Limassol, Cyprus stephgraemeCyprus was never on our list of places to go or see for that matter, as it is so far off coarse. But Cyprus is now where we find ourselves, as this is were boats from Israel land. After all the horns, hustle and bustle that is the Middle East it is quite refreshing to be back in a European country where we don't get asked constantly to look into someone's shop, hassled all day long and Shona can ...
Limassol, Cyprus dinoshona... hard to find a
church, although in retrospect we could have tried a bit harder. We
got into Limassol and once again struggled a bit trying to find the
hotel but we managed. We went out for a wander and lunch and then
had a leisurely afternoon by the pool. That night we discovered the
old castle and tried the meat mezze. It was a nice night and
Limassol proved to be a worthwhile stop in Cyprus.
... church we had a quick nose through. By now it was 1.20pm so headed off back to the ship via our bus. The country side is covered in limestone and they have terrraced it to help stop errosion. Their vines are a combination of reds and whites some the gnarly variety so no strainers used the vines get a very thick central stem and spread along the ground. Income comes mainly from wine ...
Limassol, Cyprus hazdeb... this time, somebody had rung the caretaker. The paintings were amazing. We were so lucky. Back in town, the red wine flowed, like there was no tomorrow. Day 8 The rest of the days are another story, but on the last day, we saw Larnaca. I took Lucy to the fort and then the mosque. A local came in and said no photos, but it was all to late !!! We went into Agios Lazaros, but old Lazarus still had not returned. Nice church though ...
Limassol, Cyprus uncle_davrosThis will be an on-going series about life in Ecuador. There are a lot of things to be aware of and which websites like International Living and Escape Artist don't dare mention. (These two website are perhaps the most popular for those who want to live, work and retire abroad.) Excerpts from my diary... Friday January 30, 2009 I tried to call my lawyer about Jayne's visa. I was told by her last week that she would get a ...
Limassol, Cyprus richlionWe set off quite early to drive up to the Kykos Monestary, one of the more famous monestaries high up in the mountains where Archbishop Makarios retired to and is buried (he was the first and fourth president of Cyprus). We took our time driving up, the roads are good but very twisting, and there are some magnificent views that should be stopped at to take in properly. On the way up the mountains we ...
Polis, Cyprus anneowensAfter 4 days of continuous travel to different cities and countries a day close apart and waking up early at 6 a.m. for the past 3 days, we welcome the day at sea - to rest and relax until the much awaited day for Egypt! Tonight was our second formal night and it was nice to dress up & take lots of pictures of the group inside the ship.
Limassol, Cyprus katcapduff... you leave. Although other countries might have different volts any laptop computer can handle that, it's the socket connection that you need. Recharge your battery before you leave. You never know if the first place that you'll be using there will be no place to connect it - such as on your plane trip. Back up your computer before you leave as you never know if your computer will be stolen or you suffer a computer crash. Bring a voltage charge ...

We came to Cyprus, this time but instead of having beach holidays, we thought of spending a week, up on the Mountains of Troodos first, and have two more weeks down in other hotels next to the beach. My house is in Larnaca, but I always choose to stay in a hotel ...
