We then went to Mao's Summer Palace, Maozedong Donglu Jiuju on the shores of East Lake which is now being revamped into a conference centre, but we saw one of Mao's cars in a glass case. ... sweet potatoes and other vegetables. We saw three hanging coffins suspended in crevasses in cliff faces - can't work out how they put them there. Our stop before we returned to the boat was at a village where a performance was put on by the locals. Our guide was very informative. Both about the area and her personal situation. Her family had to move when the area was flooded by the construction of the dam. Compensation was given ...

... you aggressively like we do in NZ when we’re road raging. They use them in a more cautionary way, "I’m coming up behind you – make sure you don’t turn in to my lane". When you get used to it it’s still chaotic but at least the tooting has a sensible function! However, our drive basically sat on the horn for a good hour as we were getting more and more frazzled with the situation, him and . We ...
