... Nadu was out last night to catch the new 'masala movie' Lingaa, featuring local 'superstar' Rajini Kanth - Asia's second-highest paid actor - on its day of release, the star's 65th birthday. Apparently, it's best to watch a film early before cinemas cut its length to squeeze in more showings. The bewigged actor's image is everywhere, particularly in a Tamil-run laundry we visit.

... I would help pull the ropes as one man went off. I agreed and they started to sing when we pulled the nets in like an old Cornish shanties I guess.
