" Houston we have not liftoff "

A travel blog entry by sa2013 on Jan 30, 2015

Houston airports relatively new " shuttle tram train " gets you efficiently between gates that go on for ever. No 1.5 mile jaunts through the airport from two years ago . We kept a look out for Clay, the awesome United steward from last stopover. No Clay but someone there to replace the cranky, aged, Rob Roy beach seeking bull in a china shop stewardess with a lip stick smile from last time around.....and another carry on baggage over filled flight that brought out ...

      Changes I made

Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.

Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

... transport to travel the 60 mins back to downtown Houston then to train station. Museum of Natural science The most expensive museum I have been to ($20 for just permanent exhibitions. Up to $15 extra for special exhibitions). It showed because they had a touch screen for most displays. Being Texas they had an entire exhibit about finding and drilling for oil which was interesting. They made some brief comments about looking into renewable energy and the current limitations which ...

Had breakfast at Magnolia Diner in Houston, which had the biggest serves I've seen in my life. Sam ordered the Big Breakfast, but without sausage and meat patty, when it arrived at the table I reckon the plate had an entire pigs worth of bacon on it. It also had eggs, hash brown (shredded potato), toast and a separate plate with three large buttermilk pancakes. Not bad for $8.50! I had my ...
