ICE is nice!

The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

On the way to pick up the rental car we had this great Iranian cab ...

... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
Our time is up and we must return to the airport.
Because I have special needs we get to board ...

Back into the car and onto Windsor. It never ceases to amaze me the beauty of God's creation. The rolling hills and the stiles and the public footpaths and the rock walls and the slate roofs and the blackberries and the quaint villages: Cotswolds- I'll be back. I loved it all so much.

... their baggage free of charge as it should have been from the beginning since the longest leg of the flight is with American Airlines and that's the baggage policy that should have been used in the first place. We all made it through security with 0 problems.... Except Mr. Ferraro, who got pulled aside to be interrogated about his iPad case. Before you knew it, we boarded our flight to London, leaving Germany behind. Almost all slept... And it was a bit of a bumpy ...

It's monday and we had arrived at the airport on time. YAY! We didn't exactly know where to go so we followed the signs, but it lead us to the wrong baggage claim area. We wandered around trying to find a staff person but apparently the airport was really short on staff. We found someone at a desk and he told us where to go. We finally got there and guess who we found! Tante Gitta and Onkel Johannes! (My Dad's Aunt and Uncle). I had never met ...
