Situated 25 minutes from the bus and train stations, and only 10 minutes from old town. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. The room is sparse though comfortable; table & chairs, mirror, bin and beside shelves. We were lucky to find we had a room with a small balcony. The curtain enough is just mosquito net and so doesn't keep out the morning sun! Only complaint for the room is the floor was very dusty and so wearing shoes at all times was preferable. The bathrooms and showers are clean although there is only two per floor and so the morning rush can delay your plans. The staff were extremely helpful and could provide any train or bus times required.

We decided to have a little bit of a lie in today but this was extended by the queue for the showers! Once out we headed to the base of the Three Crosses Hill by following the River Vilnia. This took us through a beautiful park with lovely water fountains and chess boards where some locals were playing. The route up the hill began with a series of …
Today was a very special day and a very early start! We were heading to Trakai to see the island castle which is on the front of our guide book. Thankfully last night we checked with our hostel when the trains left- the first was at 0740 but the next not until 1230! So up we got and discovered a bonus of there being no shower queue and plenty of …
What a day and we've only just begun! First we passed over two padlock bridges like the famous one in Paris where couples engrave their names onto padlocks and then lock them onto the bridge. Then, en route to the Church of the Holy Mother of God, we stopped first to read the constitution of the unofficial Republic of Uzupio where our hostel is …
I got to explore a little more of Vilnius today, and it was alright. It's not my favorite of the Baltic cities, but it was still nice. I met Hannah for the 12pm start of the tour and it was pretty good. It was a pretty small group, around ten people. We met a Singaporean girl named Shameera and hung out with her for the rest of the day. This tour …
I moved on to another city today, and it looks pretty similar to the last couple I've been to. Hannah and I got a bus from Riga to Vilnius this morning at 8:30am and got in at about 12:30pm. It was a pretty nice ride through the countryside, and I had a couple of older American guys to talk to. They are travelling around for a few weeks, but it …
