No Issues.......excellent value, hotel at motel price

I decided to save a buck on our last night of 8 in SF and booked this on priceline to be close to the airport. I got what I wanted...comfortable beds, clean decent bath, reasonable room. A/c worked fine. Yes the hall carpets look like a parking lot floor but I wasnt sleeping in the halls. The front desk was very busy day and night - rarely more than one clerk on staff but I guess that is how they chop costs. We checked in no problem via priceline, we had a good sleep with out 2 young children. Exactly what I wanted. The parking fee is a joke but it is a free market. You can park for free down the block. I may not want to spend my wedding night here, but I would have no issues coming back again. The staff, including cleaning/bell hops, were all very friendly. No pool etc but for 1/3 of what we paid at the Embassy Suites across the street I thought this was very good value.

Beware of the Doubletree!

It is mystifying to me how this hotel, located near the San Francisco airport, is rated 3 stars. It would be a stretch to give it even 2 stars. The carpet in the hallway to our room was smelly and dirty. The room itself was seedy--dirty carpet, old beat-up furniture, etc. Even the walls needed to be stripped and either repapered or painted. A truly depressing place.

Very nice hotel

Everything was pleasant for me during this stay. I did not order the room service, I never do in hotels anyway. The check in was fast and easy. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is right no the bay a few miles from SFO. My only complaint is the $13 they try to get you for parking. What I did and numerous others did was parked directly across the street from the hotel in which there are numerous free parking spots.

Average Airport Hotel

Spent one night at the Doubletree Hotel at SF Airport. Agree with one of the viewers that (to me) the hotel decor is not especially welcoming. The hotel lobby is done in dark wood,,, looks like it was done with a man's taste in mind. However, my room was clean. I had a great view of the bay. I did feel that the front desk personnel was superfically friendly.( not my problem). I love the chocolate chip cookies

Fine Airport Hotel

We spent three nights at the Doubletree this past weekend and found the hotel much better than the past reviews. While this is not a 4 star hotel, for $40 per night it provides a comfortable and convenient place to stay. Check-in was easy and warm cookies were provided. We were quite suprised to receive a fifth floor room with at great view of the bay since this was a priceline reservation. Our room had a comfortable king-sized bed with the somewhat "flat" pillows described in previous reviews. Room was large, clean with a bright but small bathroom. The water pressure in the shower varies based on usage in the hotel. While the temperature of the water remains constant, the flow goes from adequate to barely enough water to rinse off the soap. Iron and board in closet for last minute pressing. Shuttle service to the airport is very convienent with shuttles runnning every 15 minutes. Nice first floor lounge and full restaurant. This hotel is used by many airline crews overnighting in SFO.

3 Star Hotel with 4 Star Convenience

After a roundtrip through california we stayed at the Doubletree (unfortunately for just one night). Before we had stayed at lots of other hotels and motels. Nowhere (not even at the Hyatt SFO) we found so much value for our money. The staff was very friendly and helpful - beginning with the hotel-shuttle-driver, ending with the reception staff. We even got a fresh (still warm) welcome-cookie. The rooms were spacious and tastefully furnished. No "marathon-marches" through endless corridors, no noise at night. We never had to wait long for an elevator.

Everything was absolutely perfect.

Dark, depressing rooms

Have stayed here two different times; once 9/29/03 and again on 10/12/04. Both times we booked thru Hotwire.com for $43 per night. Our first visit, we learned upon checking in there would be an additional $13 PER NIGHT fee for parking!

I was sick and only wanted some soup for supper so we ordered room service! HA! My French onion soup and my husband's hamburger including taxes, room service delivery fee and tip came to MORE than our room rate! That is the absolute truth!

Our room seemed to be done in 'dark tones' (dark furniture, walls and painting), and lighting in the bathroom was almost nonexistent! My bronchitis kept me coughing most of the night and the pillows were as flat as pancakes, so coughing into one of them was no help! Bring your own pillows to this hotel!

Each time we have stayed was the night before we were to fly home; the second time, we turned our car in the night before our flight and took the hotel shuttle back to the Doubletree to AVOID the $13 parking fee! Ha! Take that, Doubletree!

Doubletree - Double trouble!

We got our room through priceline for $48, which is awesome, but I have learned that you get what you pay for at this hotel. The front desk had trouble locating my reservation, but finally found it. The room was typical convention hotel decor. I tried to call the front desk to ask for more pillows only to find neither phone in the room worked. So I had to use my cell phone. Neither the pillows, or the phones were dealt with that night. We had dinner at the Chutney Grill and found the service to be extremely slow -- 40 minutes to be served dinner on a dead Wednesday night. The food was mediocre. In the morning upon driving out, I was stopped at a booth and charged $13 for parking! Nobody had said anything about parking at check-in. I was furious. I paid, drove a few blocks, then decided to deal with it. I drove back to the hotel and asked why I wasn't told about the parking charge up front. They answered that the small print on the Priceline form said they could make additional charges. I said they were being dishonest and finally the manager comped the parking fee. I wouldn' t have minded paying, but they should tell people up front. All in all, not a place I would return to.

Very good stay, no complaints

Got this hotel through Priceline for $32 per night (used biddingfortravel for advice) and parking was $13 extra per night. Very professional staff, clean and modern room, nice lobby and good restaurant. No complaints whatsoever.This is in an area just south of SFO airport, so theres's not much to offer in the way of other attractions in the area. You'll need to use their free airport shuttle or a rental car to get around.Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, even for double the price.

Great Stay!

Just visited the hotel . . . new rooms, a great restaurant (especially liked the Sunday Brunch), very friendly service at a rate much lower than Hyatt or Marriott! The hotel sits on SF Bay and has terrific views! This is where I stay from now on in this area!
