... fields, which surround Orosi. As the rainy season already started I just hurried to find my hostel, which I found pretty quickly. Montaña Linda was supposed to be my, and from 2 days later on also Anjas home. Visiting such an "unknown" area in the not high season explained why I was almost the only guest. Besides me there was a really and I mean really strange 50 year old Dutch and one Tico who comes every day after work to the place to catch up with travelers. <br ...
Orosi, Province of Cartago, Costa Rica aileenchenTelling of stories comes second nature to me, so it will come to no surprise to find that most of my stories must come first and second from nature. The last few weeks have been filled with an incredible amount of new experiences, pain, confusion, delight, exhaustion, and insight. The last coming from the first, (so far this update isn´t going very quickly so I´ll fast forward). As of 3 days ago my injury of the foot is officially healed ...
Gondoca, Costa Rica bassmanms... then asked for all the lights to be shone ahead on the animal to distract it as much as possible. We crept up closer only to see a large snake, the Fer-De-Lance. The Fer-De-Lance is a pit viper, it is not the most poisonous in Costa Rica but it is one of the most dangerous. WOW was that amazing to see in the wild!! Momma was very embarassed and her son wouldn't even look at me till I told him to. After everything was said and done, I thanked her for having the character to come forward and then we did the local huggy-cheek-kiss thing to reassure her. Then the son and I had a talk about how God was with him the night before. I believe he was the one that would have gotten ...

El Roble, Costa Rica thomaskempWe have finally arrived in Costa Rica! We landed at nine in the morning and the flight was very boring. I watched Star Wars on the plane. It was fun for Grandad to pick us up, and when we arrived we had some chocolate chip cookies and they were really yummy! We were very tired and we stayed up until midnight two times on the plane. Here is a picture of Grandad's house.
El Roble, Costa Rica thomaskemp... Two of our cars were damaged that day trying to cross the rivers, but we made it in one piece! When we got there, everyone in the community was waiting for us. So, they all helped us out with the decorations. In total, we had seventeen folks volunteer with us for this party. It was quite the scene! If you can imagine, we had the majestic cultural ...
