Picked up the car at our friends, the Meadors. Hitting the road for Atlanta. Wow, it's been a whirlwind expedition! Feels like we've been gone for months. Can't believe how much we've seen and all the places that we've been in the last 26 days. I will certainly view so many of the places we've visited with a different set of eyes and opinions ...

I have been trying to prepare myself to go broke for nearly a month now, so hey, it looks like I'll be doing a great job at that!

I've started searching road trip blogs and sites to gather ideas for car activities so that we don't all kill each other on the days we are driving for 8 hours at a time. The more I look, the more I believe I will be in Target buying the portable DVD player we have never broken down and purchased before we leave ...

... time (2.30am GMT - after a 5am start). Bed shortly followed.... I was woken up at 3.30 by presumably drunk louts... then at 6am with some very loud Rammsteine! At 7am I gave up and dragged myself up fo a breakfast of rice and beans, as well as scrambled egg, toast and some ver interesting fruits ready for my day in San Jose.

Luckily I made it in one piece. On meeting the rest of the group, 2 had their luggage lost in Canada and one had her card eaten in an ATM!
