Things I miss

... I far prefer washable dishes to eating with plastic spoons and forks. Even if I do have to wash them afterwards.

4. Free Laundry.

5. Ice cubes. For drinks or to put on a bruise.

6. Rear-View windows. And along with that - being able to fit into tight parking spaces. Our van is big and windowless.

7. Couches. Just sitting on Couches. Try going even a week with only sitting on beds, gym floors ...

I was satisfied that most of the cast were the original Ariel was a great actor and amazing singer. The writers kindof massacred the story line. The original cast included- Ariel, King Triton, Eric. and the new cast included; Ursula, Sebastian, kid Flounder. The Set design had a seashell soap dish aesthetic. The guy who played sebastian ...

The New York Diaries 3.0

... the 1st five to continue and we were apparently not so clandestine because an announcement every 2 min highlighted the need to make to the front carts on foot slowly and out on the station itself with emphasis on NOT USING THE CARRIAGES END DOORS!!!! We had a beautiful clear blue sky with not a chance of cloud so I knew this 24hrs was going to be eventful. So we got to the South Ferry with no other panics or hiccups. The ferry across to Stanton Island is ...

... road map he'd given me. The bloke who claimed to know 'every road in New York' was a bloody disaster and seemed to have no sense of direction and failed to know his left from his right. The next day Julie started me off on my 'New York Experience', carefully planning when and where we should visit in New York. You would have expected that this 'tour' involved the typical tourist sites but Jules seemed fairly convinced that to the New York ...

Another laid back day...

... out a while but ditched them once we got to the museum. Poor things were hungry but got hot dogs so we could hang out, but we just left them there. The museum itself was awesome. My favorite part was the section on human evolution. Many comparisons of the skulls and skeletons, and a good timeline of hominid/homo sapien development. Very interesting. Lots of awesome skeletons of extinct mammals too...Dinosaurs...You name it they had it fossilized ...

... that counter staff are either Hispanic or Black. And not so polite. Coming from Japan, it was a shock. When we sat down to eat at the window, I could see people walk past, stop, put their hand on their stomach and then turn around and come in for a bite to eat. These people definitely lack self control. There are lots of deli like places, so breakfast was something bready. So was lunch. Dinner we went to a jazz bar that was ...

Day One...Who said getting there was half the fun?

... wave to him from the porch. We come out and he puts our suitcases in the back of the van and closes the doors...locking him and us out of the van. Did he spring into action and call the service? No. Did he start coming up with ideas of how to get us in? No. What does he do? Stand there staring at his locked van...So I promply told him that he had a choice, he either figured out a way to ...

The City That Never Sleeps

... to go to the Empire State Building but the line was over 1.5 hour wait. Instead we went to Little Italy for dinner. We had a really nice Italian meal and then suffered through the cold rain as we tried to find our way back to the subway. We also got good news. David Letterman called and we were selected to be in the show's audience on 1/3/08, the first taping back from the strike! How exciting!

... were still LOTS of people around and quite a few shops open. They assured us it was safe as they had just been there, so kids in tow we took a 3am-5.30am tour of mid-town Manhattan - what a blast! We saw a number of homeless people, which was sad, but no one hassled us at all and we didn't feel at all threatened as we walked up and down & across the streets of the Time Square area. The neon there has to be seen to be believed - Joshua and Kate loved the M&M shop with the big neon ...
