Made it down the bay overnight

... for poor visibility we were ducking in and out of the channel to avoid Navy traffic.

During the trip down anything that wasn't fastened down below ended up on the floor in the salon. Left Annapolis at 2 Monday and arrived at Top Rack Marina at about 2 this afternoon. Rewarded ourselves with a great dinner out at the Amber Lantern Restaurant. Early to bed. Up at 5:30 tomorrow to get underway at first light.

The park is called First Landing because 104 Englishmen landed here in April 1607 but life was hard & by September half of them had died. There's lots of history along this coast - there are military & mariners museums detailing the shipping history but we decided to keep on ...

When we got out of the water we laid in the sun and then played some bocci ball. That was a good time :) We weren't there too long though. We left to bring Joel's stuff back to his house and hung out with his family for a little while talking about the cruise and how much fun we all had. Everyone told embarrassing stories about my dancing, Joe's sexy man competition and Dipan's salsa skills! We were all wishing we could go back...

... strong sense of gratitude for the opportunity to take such a trip and enjoy it from the seat of my Harley. The smells, the scenery, the other bikes on a beautiful Saturday were all validation of the trip that was planned. Little did I know that just a few hours ahead my gratitude would turn to frustration.

13 North is not exactly beautiful the whole way but in parts it gives a great sense of the country feel of North East Virginia ...

... br> We accomplished our non-stop passage plan, arriving at Willoughby Bay, Norfolk, VA on May 19 at 1205, and dropping anchor just outside Willoughby Harbor Marina. Distance of the passage was 660nm over 4 days, 4 hours, 15 minutes for an average speed of 6.6 kts. Pretty typical for our offshore passages.
