Very nice and great value!
We stayed here the nights of July 2 and July 10, 2004. What a great find!! The entire hotel appears to have recently been refurbished. The rooms are very nicely and tastefully appointed...pin-striped wall paper with black accented furnitures and desks, marble countertop sinks, clean, nice bathrooms, etc. The beds were very nice, and I would say rival Westin's "Heavenly Bed". As long as they keep their rates under $90 per night, we've decided that whenever we fly LAX and need a hotel, we will definately be staying here!
We stayed at the Doubletree on our honeymoon and afterward decided that this was our favorite hotel we stayed in. The beds are the best thing you will ever lay on. You almost sink into them; they're wonderful. The pool and hot tub were very well kept and the room service was great. The only possible drawback is that the hotel is a little out of the way from any restaurants but we didn't mind walking the 1/2 mile to the nearest one. The airport shuttle was prompt and earlieren then they told me on the phone. Everyone of the staff that I met was helpful and friendly. Stay here if you get a chance, you won't be sorry.
Our home away from home
My wife and I are both from CA, so naturally we have occasion to travel there frequently. As an airline family, we like to be close to airports. We discovered this place by accident, but love it now.
The have just completed a renovation, so it is a bit trendier (and more expensive) than it used to be ... which also means it's a bit more crowded. However, the staff is generally pretty pleasant, the rooms comfortable and the price very competitive.
The airport shuttle should be avoided at all costs (can take 45 min to arrive at night), as a taxi only costs a few bucks from LAX, and will shave substantial time off your arrival.
They do not upgrade Diamond members, but for the price, who cares?
The breakfast in the morning is both tasty, and well-presented.
The new beds are a godsend.
You won't be sorry.
Loved the Hotel
Stayed at the Doubletree in April 2004. The Hotel is about 2 miles from LAX. (did not hear any aircraft noise). I loved the Hotel. set in a quite Business park of big company buildings. this is a business type Hotel. not for people who want the fast foods joints within walking distance (Who walks in the USA ?????). This Hotel is Great if you have a car. although the HOTEL will pick you up from the airport free of charge. a great hotel near the airport, we stayed for 5 nights. we took a trip to Hollywood to see the usual tourist sites. (The hotel arranged this for us.) and the bus picked us up from the Hotel. The staff were excellant. the beds are the BEST in the world !!!.
would go back again !!!!. found best rates on own website. good luck and enjoy your syay.
Nice Spot, Would Stay Again
I stayed at the Doubletree El Segundo about three weeks ago and it was a pleasant surprise! At the last minute, my friend and I (flew in from the east coast) had to find a place to stay that wasn't too outrageously priced in L.A. and she found a deal online for this hotel. I was originally skeptical because it was near the airport and I assumed not near any neat shopping, beaches, etc...Well, my fears were pseudo-correct about not alot of action in the hotel backyard, but it turned out to be a great find. The hotel is located in a quiet, business park area. Although, you are centrally located enough that you can head north and hit Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood or head south to spend a day in the sun at beaches like Long Beach or Seal Beach (which is my favorite beach because of it's cozy, neighborly little shops and restaurants ) - you can jump on the highway next to the hotel and get to any of these places within 20 minutes. For me, it was just like being on the east coast! Plus, the hotel (very newly remodeled) and staff were so kind and helpful, it was well worth that small inconvenience.
The only thing you might consider - the breakfast is a tad pricey if you are on a budget. Luckily, a nice gentleman handed me his free breakfast coupon one morning or I would have paid about $10 for an omelet and toast (albeit, the portions are fairly large). I would definitely stay there again and enjoy more of their yummy cookies!! Oh yeah, they have plenty of free parking, which is a major bonus considering most places charge anywhere from $12-$20 per day.
This place is tops on my list!
Excellent location only 1 mile or so south of the LAX airport, but there was no airport noise here as the hotel is in the corporate park with such neighbors as Mattel, Air New Zealand, and Xerox. High class, this hotel is actually closer to a 4 star rating in my book, friendly check-in desk, helpful and polite. We stayed for 3 nights and found easy access to Hollywood about 25 minutes, via freeway and went to Disney which is about a 45 minute drive south of here. Things to consider when choosing this hotel. Brand new renovation, marble bathrooms, Neutrogena complimentary products, use of the internet in the business center there at no charge, coffee makers in the room with Twinings tea free of charge, need I go on? Ok, excercise room, nice swimming pool and free airport shuttle if you don't have your own rental. And oh yes, free parking onsite at the hotel which is located in a very secure in a business neighborhood. You can't go wrong here!! Bravo, bravo. This Doubletree is the best. And one last thing was the rates, this isn't a tourist trap and the rates were fantastic. I almost didn't want to write this and keep it my best kept secret...
Wonderful renovation, the bed were the best I have ever slept in.
Best Hotel for your money!
I just stayed at this hotel March 5-8. It was fantastic! The location is ideal. It is about 3 miles from the airport, yet you can barely hear any airplane noise. It is located is a corporate park next to Mattel and Xerox Centre. The room is very clean. There is free internet access in the lobby. The breakfast is decent. I had a stay for sunday free rate. So overall, I paid about $60 per night. For this price , which includes free parking, you can't beat it! I will definitely stay here again. oh yeh, forgot to mention that the chocolate chip cookies upon check in is heavenly!
Great Hotel/Great Value!!!
This was a great hotel! It is clean, safe, and very pleasant. We decided to stay here while we toured Santa Monica and Hollywood. It turned out to be a great idea because this place was not too far from LA attractions and we got a great room for 58 dollars. We couldn't believe how nice it was for the cost!!!
Stuck in the middle of a business park, the hotel however does offer a good location for the airport. The free pick-up/drop-off service to and from the airport is reasonable as long as you let them know in advance! You get free cookies upon arrival also. Rooms are reasonable size and well maintained. The free parking is also a plus. Friendly staff, willing to help out! A bit secluded if you have no vehicle though, a good 20min walk to the nearest shop!

... I hadn't.
Back to the hotel by 1pm, collected a lunchbox, had a little nap and back on the bus around 5pm in LA peak. That was an eye opener for many.

Five minutes later, I deliver our current 1985 Financial Report to my manager, Dr. Intimidator, who is not in his office. The window office lights are off, so I leave the document on his desk. I hear the door shut behind me, and spin around facing Sicko Puckett in the doorway.
