Christmas in Phoenix
We are in Phoenix for Christmas and enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather! It has been a joy to sit and relax and do NOTHING... We are spending quality time with family and friends. We have six bags with us and we are going to have to bring them both down to 2 carry-ons. YIKES! In just a few short days we will be taking our comfortable Wifi, Starbucks, and hamburger loving lives to a foreign 18 million populated city. Deep breath...

Texas is good for one's health
... from the staff. After tests including a chest x-ray, they determined that I had an upper bronchial infection. It took two sessions on the nebulizer there for my chest to quiet down enough for the doctor to let me go . . . with prescripts for Prednisone (that ubiquitous drug of my life), Levaquin antibiotic and an inhaler. Last night I got my first decent night’s rest in a month. Mary Jo is feeling much better now, too.

... are being passed (its also the reason why they can televise live court trials). So Will and I sat in the Senate meeting for half an hour or so. Unfortunately, we must have caught them on the last leg of the meetings, because they were just confirming what bills were being passed, but it was still something to see. Surprisingly informal, most people were wandering around chatting to eachother, paying barely any attention to whoever was speaking.

Travelling alone with kids
... the end it all worked out beautifully - we got off in Houston and basically had the perfect amount of time to walk to go to the bathroom and walk to our gate, then board moments later. Perfect timing.
