We have really enjoyed this bit of Bulgaria. The weather could have been kinder but in the summer this area could be a really nice holiday (if your a golfer!).
... and the roses all in full bloom. The terraced slopes were a work of monumental construction and rather than steps going up the outside they were tunnelled throughout the walls to the next level.
After a morning in the garden we played golf at the Lighthouse course and while we were paying one of the marshals said our manager, Alex Day, was in Oman. He was the golf pro in our course in Muscat ...
... greens etc. Charlie had a fun time, lost a few balls in the sea but found a lot while searching for his own in the meadows of flowers. It was a great and memorable day of golf.
Went to Balchik for supper tonight. Nice little sea side town with a string of restaurants along the harbour wall. We eat a nice meal while watching the amazing lightning storms which we have been seeing ...
... and Golden Sands and by accident we went into the holiday village of Albena and had to take a ticket to get through the barrier. It's an ex Soviet resort, 45 years old, lots of concrete but with modern bits I was quite curious but Charlie started to have a panic attack saying he would pay not to have lunch here. At the barrier I explained to the young man that we'd come in by accident he said he'd let me out for free and to have a nice day ...
