Drove down to New Bern...about a three hour drive from Vikki and Chucks place in Raleigh. Stayed on their boat and Saw the new year in at this cool little basement pub (supposedly haunted!) Our mascot chicken Bluck bluck came along for the party and stole the show! Had an awesome night and then went back to sleep on the boat for a well earned rest! Happy New year ...
... to drive to the end of the pavement but wasn't sure what next..so that's what we did. What we found at the end of the road was beach, not just any beach, but beach that you could drive on with 4x4. I figured, well that was a nice drive..now what...I never in a million years thought Honey would do it, after all, we don't have a jeep, we have a Cadillac..but after just a minute or two of analyzing the situation, off we went!

... towns" in some travel magazine that i got. and it was cool. we walked around the waterfront area and saw some of the older ( from the 1700's) homes. most of them were b and b's or inn types of place. than we drove to morehead city, ate dinner at a place called sanitary restaurant, it was the first restaurant on that boardwalk and we had to go there because of the name.

The only other boats our there with us was a catch, that went inland shortly after we saw them & a bunch of shrimp boats, along with the coast guard. I’m sure the shrimp boaters thought we were crazy stupid. We did discover that my dad’s Cape Dory has lived up to what people say about the boat: they are very sea worthy!
