      So after 3 flights, 11 hours waiting in airports, 19 hours flying time and nearly 15,000km later, we arrived in Madison, Wisconsin. There are badgers everywhere, but not real ones. There are statues of them, they adorn bars, they scowl at you from clothing, the restaurant where we are staying is called Badgerland, there is even a giant badger …

      ... hours in Dallas, we stayed in the airport. The land is very flat an seems to go on forever. The airport is actually located on the outskirts of the city, so the city was only visible in the distance.
      The customs department was very 'high-tech'. There were self check in booths as though we were in a grocery store. White slips of paper with our information was dispensed from the machine. then we were on our way to the next terminal.

      We stopped at Pewit's nest on the way back. Different landscape from Parfrey's Glen, but again a very nice slot canyon, didn't stay long, it felt more ominous to me. Forevertron was closed.       ... one of 4 that John Deere have in Waterloo, and is about 20 hectares under one roof - the second largest covered area in the US! Only the Boeing factory has a bigger covered space. They employ 7,000 staff and turn out thousands of tractors a year - they wouldn't tell us the exact number.
