... as does the big, white sign up in the Hills.  I know who walked here, who worked here, who created here. That's enough for me... I enjoyed the Stars on the sidewalks, the hand prints in the cement outside the Chinese Theatre (where I not only watched a movie, but marveled at the ridiculousness of a Chinese building inside and out in the middle of America). ... enticed us in- Elvis was rocking away so had a bite of lunch there . We put a nickel in the little juke box at our table and chose Neil Sedaka and The Platters- at least Willie did! Ventura is full of Thrift Shops! From Ventura we took the road called The Ocean Scenic Drive past lots of beaches and creek resorts with boats parked along side the houses. We stocked up with water at a Dollar Tree (pound shop to you and me). We saw evidence of a couple of houses being fumigated!! ...

... they all got excited at the prospect of food - pizza!

We are quickly learning that Americans like their servings to come in one size - extra large. So I got see a procession of pizza boxes coming back from the restaurant filled with half eaten pizzas. Food 1 - students 0.

The best part of my day, that literally bought tears to my eyes, is a group of kids coming up to me and asking if they can give their food to the homeless that they have been ...
