Doubletree Indialantic Potential But....
The rooms are quite nice -- King size bed with small patio overlooking the ocean/beach. Large TV; Small closet with iron and ironing board. Separated by vanity area with hairdryer. Towels white and fluffy. Small bathroom with toilet and glass enclosed shower (note -- no tub). The "living room" area has a pull out sofa and table, 2 chairs and it's own large TV plus a microwave, small refrigerator, and in a drawer the coffee maker/service. Perfect if travelling with kids as the bedroom has a sliding door which offers some privacy. Or if on business the table works well for plugging in your laptop (the cable connection and an outlet is well up on the wall above the table)....
Other facilities -- small pool with deck and chairs; pool towels replenished frequently...a little wooden ramp to go over to the beach -- where most of the people are... Very small beach bar (only 4/5 chairs). The pool is cold (think brochure says its heated)and the hot tub wasn't working...but area nice enough to enjoy the sunshine if you can find a chair.
Major problem -- the food service! The food isn't the best and they are still working out some kinks. The staff is also in need of additional training which we hope comes soon. Important -- if Ashley is still working there request another waitress -- very rude and snippy!! She definitely needs to be in another job where there isn't any customer contact...
Some other things -- The hotel is working on their satellite dish cause adding more channels so TV doesn't always work; Some people get cookies and some don't; Our air was fine -- cold even -- but other people in lobby complaining theirs wasn't up to par. No security personnel are visible anywhere -- don't know if this is good or bad...
But the management is trying and we hope will soon bring the property up to the Doubletree standard.
Wonderful Stay Time After Time
This hotel has been totally renovated and has a wonderful staff. It's now known as the Doubletree Guest Suites. The Doubletree hotel chain should be proud to call this a Doubletree!
I've stayed here from August 21st through August 24th. I enjoyed staying here so much I made reservations for my return visit from August 27th through the 31st. I had reservations at the Hilton Rialto on Airport Road from Aug 27th through the 31st, but after staying here, I had to cancel my reservations at the Hilton Rialto on Airport Road. Trust me, I'd rather look out and see the ocean than a bunch of building along with an airport.
I will be returning once again but this time with my family on Sept 4th through the 9th. I had reservations from Sept 4th - 9th at the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach but I canceled those reservations after staying here.
Everything in the room(s) is very new, clean carpet, couch, chairs, table, refrigerator, microwave etc. Every room has a living room, 2 TVs, a sliding door which seperates the living room from the bedroom and most importantly every room has an ocean view!! So you don't have to worry about paying extra for an ocean view!!!
I can't forget to mention the beautiful ocean view. No obstacles in the way, unlike the Doubletree Oceanfront on Atlantic Ave in Cocoa Beach. If you want to look out your balcony and view the top of the hotel restaurant along with the sound of the air conditioners, then go ahead and book your stay at the Doubletree Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach.
The hotel staff at Doubletree Guest Suites is great and is very willing to accommodate all needs at all hours of the day and night. I can't say enough about the hotel staff; Shelly, Carol, Tony and Daniel. They have done an excellent job and if you have any issues, they will resolve and conduct a follow-up.
The hotel restaurant has plenty of dishes to choose from and at inexpensive prices, which is great if you're on a budget. The parking lot has plenty of spaces for handicap parking which is very convenient.
If you're staying in the Melbourne area, then I would book my stay at the Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront.
Pretty nice place
For the price, this place was exellent. The hotel staff was friendly and kept the rooms clean. The view of the ocean were beautiful and the beaches were very nice. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone in the are for business or vacation.
Great Quality for the Price...BUT...
This hotel was very nice overall but the room we stayed in did need some work. The staff was great and the room was well-equipped at the front where the comfy king-sized bed was and the view was terrific. The pool and jacuzzi were fabulous as well as the poolside cafe and the beach area was beautiful.
The fridge was noisy; the door handle was duct-taped together; the pull-out bed was as hard as a rock and the bedding like sleeping under burlap sacks. The pillows were pathetic as well - they seemed like bargain basement pillows that had been washed and thrown in the dryer and the stuffing was all balled up. (The bedding on the king-sized bed at the front was excellent however) There weren't any security strips on the sliding glass door leading to the balcony & I hit my head very hard walking into it thinking it was open. I guess you could commend them for having those doors nice and clean but I couldn't say the same about the carpets - they were disgustingly dirty. I had to keep shoes on at all times because the carpet was all sticky and when I walked on it in socks they got wet and turned brown on the bottom! Gross! I would recommend eating breakfast out as opposed to in the hotel since the buffet had only hot and cold cereal, mini pastries and hard mini bagels.
Overall I would expect a bit more quality for the price we paid. Probably won't stay here again unless they can promise a clean room with a more comfortable back room.
VERY BAD Experience!!!
We had a VERY bad one night stay at this hotel! If it wasn't 2:30am that we checked in, we would have left. There were no locks on the sliding glass door. The housekeeping department decided that our sheets did not need to be changed that day. They still had the sleeping pattern of the 2 people that slept there the night before with stains on them too! So, we changed them ourselves! The sink would only give you hot or cold water one at a time not mixed warm water, so we either freezed or scalded ourselves. The bathroom and hall floors were wet with some liquid, with who know what. The hallways were very unclean and untidy. The pool was cloudy. We were only there for a few hours because of our problems. I would highly NOT reccomend this hotel until it undergoes the renovations that the front desk supervisor said that they are going to do. The only nice thing about the stay was the view of the ocean!
What a view
Stayed here on the 3rd of July and found the room to be a great price for what you got. Seperate living room area with sink, fridge, TV, DVD, boombox. Bed in other room was a King with its own TV, but who needs it when you have a balcony looking out to the Atlantic? Nice pool, continental breakfast. All around great place, even with 9 million kids staying there. Beach was fantastic!!!
Very satisfied... GREAT staff!
Stayed at Quality Inn Oct 1-5, 2003. Was very pleased with the hotel.
The staff did everything in their power to make it an enjoyable stay.
Not a luxury hotel but plenty of room and clean. The pool has just been renovated and is very nice. Beach access is great. Great ocean view but would advise staying on one of the upper floors (only has 9) for the best view. The restaurant had a free typical continental breakfast each morning or you could order off of the menu at a reasonable price.
During the day you could order from the pool area and have it brought out to you. They even came out to the beach one afternoon and asked if we would like some lunch brought to us. This may not be common practice, it might have been because it was the off season and it wasn't crowded but it was nice. The evening desk clerk was the nicest person you would ever want to meet as was the lady who cleaned our room each day. They were doing a lot of renovating as it was the off season but they made up for it in many ways. Kids and adults alike were very pleased with the accomodations for the price.
Great Ocean Views
This was our third stay at the Quality Suites Melbourne Oceanside and again we were very pleased with our stay. With three kids, we REALLY need the extra room and the set-up at the Quality Suites Melbourne Oceanside is perfect. In addition, the included breakfast is a real bonus. While at Disney, we were spending $40+ each morning for breakfast, so I figure this brings the nightly rate at the Quality Suites down by at least that much.Every suite looks out over the ocean (we're just back ant really missing this). The pool is very clean as are the rooms. The access to the beach and ocean couldn't be better. There was a minor mix-up in our reservations, but the staff took care of this at check-in evern though we were staying there for aprt of the Easter long weekend which is a very busy time. The hotel is an easy drive to the theme parks, NASA and Ron Jon's Surf Shop. We'll be back.
It was a great hotel, very clean and nice. Also, great service at breakfast!
Great place to stay
I went back to the Quality Inn this year after having spent my vacation there last year. All the rooms face the ocean. Rooms include a large master bedroom, and living room. Two TVs. Great Ocean view, right on the beach. The hotel personnel treat us like VIP's. I would recommend this hotel.

... did not. That was due to Neil Armstrong's typical 'Aw Shucks' attitude and he didn't want to single the crew out for special attention. Apparently his shipmates Buzz Aldrin and Micheal Collins didn't feel the same way and they did fade to obscurity in the shadow of Armstrong.

We left st Augustine this morning at 7.45 but me and some girls got up really early to have a look around the town because we got on so late last night and had to leave early this morning we haven't had much time to see it.
