---------- Well, after the mess of Buenos Aires I wanted to change my mind, so I took the bus to go to Mar del Plata, a little seaside resort on the Atlantic coast. The ride's been all nice, even if a third of the time in the bus was spent going out of Buenos Aires and its monstruous traffic jams... Once in Mar del Plata I had to take a ...

Des le premier jour, nous partons passer le WE dans la maison de campagne de l'une d'elles. Grosse fete pendant 2 jours, barbecue en veux-tu en voila, je re-apprend a faire des bracelets bresiliens entre autres ...

Mar Del Plata, Capital Federal District, Argentina logbDon´t even think about coming to a nice and sandy beach when you come to Mar Del Plata before mid January. I would say you can expect a desert full of unbrellas with noon on the beach. But the beach walk is nice and amazing view. Make sure to check out the seals on the port where the wreck ships are. They definitely worth the visit. Also try any of the ...
Mar Del Plata, Argentina canadiansmiley... thought it would be, it would have been good to meet some other people. Gripe over - I did actually meet up with Gareth, a guy I met in Bariloche. He had to get back to BA to pick up a replacement passport for the one he had stolen. He too went to "Mardel" as a break from BA. Thank God he was there, I think he saved me from a pretty miserable couple of days. We met at his hostel near Grande Playa to watch the Argentina v Scotland match. He had already ...
Mar del Plata, Central Argentina, Argentina johnsa32After 10 fairly intense days in Buenos Aires, we were happy to arrive in Mar del Plata, a laid back beach town on the coast just 6 hours south of the capital. We immediately realised that we were essentially in the Brighton of Argentina (but with sand instead of pebbles on the beach). It is a summer-city based mostly around its proximity to the sea and has these English-looking brick buildings that line the ...
Mar Del Plata, Argentina thelepkis... some tasty sea food. Later Austin picked us up for a tour and dinner. Austin lives 20 min. outside the city in the ¨hill country.¨ He has an awesome house and the community small & quaint. It was definitely not a place your average tourist gets to see. He took us to one of the strangest places I have ever been. In South America, they seem to have a patron saint for ...
Mar del Plata, Argentina theprochaskas... photos. My presence was not required until wedding time. Boo and the other members of the wedding party waited in the lobby until the bride finally was ready to go. After she left, I went back to the room, had a shower and got dressed. We were then bussed to the beach club. Apparently, the groom's mother had told all the Argentine guests that the ceremony was starting 30 mins earlier than ...
Mar del Plata, Argentina pagenty... the day off (apparently as they were there) Hoards of lovely children milled around only slightly embarrassed when Peter tested them on their English. The town is very big, built up, but thankfully not yet wall to wall sunbathers as this is only spring; still the sun was hot enough to redden the exposed areas and I was foolish enough to leave the hat behind. Overall ... recommended for a visit, but perhaps not a long stay. As ever people friendly and helpful.
