... my foot. Since I got a kitchen in my room, it would be a waste if I am not using it. So I decided to plan to utilize this kitchen and make some simple meals from time to time. ... but by the 3rd bite my mind got the best of me and I gagged through the entire piece. Oh well, I tried. The rest of the night we walked around to the various stages but had to compete with all of the umbrellas out because of the rain. No one lost an eye and we were entertained for a few hours, so I would say it was a success!
Sunday we met our guide for the day, Miki, at the train station and we headed to Shiroishi. Apparently this isn't a request the tour group gets ...

A true highlight of any japanese experience is Zao Onsen, a ski resort town about 45 minutes East of Yamagata.
Came here a bit by chance and was very lucky indeed. This town is so charming, lots of little lodges and restaurants, it's pretty, clean and surrounded by mountains, ski slopes and lakes.
