... tasteless. Which I thought was funny, why is it that a good squid is one that you can not taste or smell ???? So is that jerky style squid that stings the nostrils when they put it on my table at Karaoke supposed to go in my mouth? Is that a rejected Hakodate squid sent to the middle of the island where they don't know any different? So many questions.... But they do sure milk this "famous squid" thing for all its worth and really I have to give them ...
First stop in Hokkaido
... doesn't come any fresher as we caught our own squid, had it cut up and ready to eat in one minute. And yes, it was still twitching on our chopsticks - just can't beat this! Of course we also had to try scallops, salmon, sea urchin, fish eggs and king crab…all to die for.
...Sorry Andy - just have to mention all the food - it's too good and such a big part of travelling in Japan!

... I saw that immaturity in them. People learn from mistakes, and now I learned to appreciate the tiny joy within the annoying boundary.
The next morning before our flight back home, we visited the seafood market in downtown. They (agency) treated us each a sea urchin, and I just had one small bite and quitted. The fisherman cut out the shell and it's still alive... I'm a timid person! I have to pray for my next trip to India!

Hakodate: Ika, Ika, Ika Odori!
... Goryokaku means five sided fort, which refers to the old fort that used to be located there. Today all that remains are the foundations which are a great cherry blossom spot in May. Otherwise, it’s sounds like a quiet green space. Well, my original plan was to see Goryokaku, but I was so tired I just slept right through my alarm. Thus, I headed straight to the festival, which is within five minutes walk of the Hakodate train station.
