After arriving back in Berlin, we went to check out the Brandenburg gate and the Reichstag. Unfortunately, the Reichstag was closed to visitors (for how many days we don't know) so we couldn't walk up the dome : ( . They had police everywhere with machine guns and had barricades blocking off the whole area. They even had the nearby U bahn station entrance closed off. We had no idea what was going on in there but there was no commotion going ...
