An awesome morning, went by train (Thomas the tank engine style) into town to the musical cabinet museum, amazing old musical instruments the best was a piano with 6 attached violins, tiny musical box with a singing bird. Moved onto the Ruedesheimer Schloss hotel for the local coffee delicacy. This was sugar, brandy, coffee & cream, yummy!!!

Ruedesheim has 10,500 residents with up to 3 million visitors, 288ha of vineyards. Went by cable ...

Well we made it to Germany. We enjoyed our trip on the high speed train once we got ourselves into the right carriage. We saw some very pretty countryside along the way. It was a 4 hour journey from Bruge through to Frankfurt and so we arrived early afternoon. Frankfurt is quite a modern city in many areas as it has had to be rebuilt after losing lots of buildings in the Second World War. We were staying in the older part of town and ...

... pretty. Lots of old, wooden beams and colourful plasterwork. Some great restaurants too all spilling out on to the street. Had a delicious meal at a Greek restaurant which appears to be a particular favourite here in southern Germany as I counted at least three Greek outlets. We returned to the hotel at 9:30 exhausted by a day of car travel and site seeing. Open windows to let out the heat and let in the hourly chime of the church ...
