Rajai dropped me off at the Kilimanjaro airport at around 6pm for my 8:50pm flight. As expected, the flight was late getting in, and we didn't board until almost takeoff time. Apparently this is a regular loop for KLM - Amsterdam, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam. We take off about 30 minutes late, land in Dar es Salaam about 45 minutes later, take off fairly quickly, and I'm delighted that the flight isn't full and I have the seat next to me open! For an 8.5 hour first leg, this is a ...

Very friendly police stations there - you get offered cup of tea... Fortunately, they got away in time to tour the canals on a night cruise. ...

... and younger folks are probably cruising the Mediterranean. A funny story reported on the cruise news was that a granddaughter was looking for her grandmother, and went into the ladies room. All three stalls were occupied, so the granddaughter called out, "Grandmom?" The women in all three stalls replied, "Yes?" Pretty funny and indicative of the typical profile on board.
