... As we walked back down you just had to realize people were still living here and going about their everyday lives in such an historic neighborhood!!

Dinner tonight was lamb chops ,home made oven chips and a Greek salad with ingredients from a Supermarche we found. We were then frantically booking accomodation in Alghero where we planned to stay next.

... all good washed down with a couple of glasses of Vermentino a local of the region's wine. This wine can be dry or off-dry in style or verging on sweet but in general the richer in it's straw colour, the more flavoursome.

After crossing the crazy 6 lane road on a pedestrian crossing that no car stops for!! We made it back to the car and 'dodgem' drove back to our lovely apartment so peaceful and slept.

... NEVER had a good piece of beef in all of Europe. I was afraid to order it but knew I wouldn't go hungry if I didn't like it. Eldon had the fish again. He finished his meal with a stuffed fried pancake of sorts with ricotta cheese and honey drizzled over it. I had my usual, gelato and finished all of it. We then shared a whole fish (sea bream), which was delicious, Eldon had the cheese plate with his, and I had a mixed salad. Both of our sides were HUGE. Needless to say, we just tasted a little bit of both.

For dessert Eldon got the Tiramisu, and I got the chocolate gelato. I had one bite of his, and I ate all my gelato, which was DELICIOUS.

We will be a lot more careful ordering food tomorrow ...

For those of you not sure what baroque is just picture large amounts of sculptured marble and frescoes depicting saints, cherubs, angels and other religious imagery peering down at you from every angle. The modern touch is some two meter high head shots of the current Pope, Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa.
