A Sneak Peak at Next Season's Shelves

I head to Guangzhou with no real plan. I'm not sure there is much to do in the city as I only know it as a gateway to Hong Kong and ground zero for expats teaching English in China. I've come to meet friends but need to find something to do to kill time while they are at work. I've been told there is a little island easily accessible, full of old colonial buildings and picturesque walks. I begin making plans to check ...

... of “Happy Halloween.” I went to a few of my own
classes, grade 2 English, and we did a fashion show, took pictures, and “played”
trick or treat. It was a great time, and the kids really took up to the whole
    spirit of Halloween.

... park, swimming pool, gymnasium, restaurants, market stalls, museum, and art museum besides plant and flower gardens.

At 3 PM, we found our way back to our entrance (one of five) to the park and headed to the subway. When we got on the subway it was crowded, but two young women stood and offered their seats to us. Joe was reluctant to sit, but the young women were insistent. A family from India talked with us before they got off. Being westerns we were ...

... at school from 2-6pm, so we met up after that & headed into the city for the evening Pearl River cruise.

It was really great - we got tickets for the top deck, and had a perfect view the whole time. The trip lasted a little under an hour, and they held the boat for us so that we didn't have to wait for the next one.

After that we needed food, so I somehow managed to get us to Leide, an area where there is lots of western ...
