... foreigners, who had told him how much they hated getting asked to buy things and how rudely they were treated.... silly, silly stuff. How you could behave so obsequiously towards thin skinned foreigners slandering your country is beyond me.

Hahah as an aside, the guy on the computer beside me is watching this hilarious looking video which seems to be about some sort of apeman tribe being watched over by some god race... Man these Chinese TV shows are nuts. Here's the ...

    Race day

A travel blog entry by woods.jan on Jun 06, 2013

At least is overcast so a little cooler, thank heavens. Most of the day spent getting organised for buses to pick us up. We had a police escort and a convoy of 18 buses, to take us to venue. Then we had the dotting ceremony, and then the races. Seemed no reason for the way the teams were split into 3 groups, but I think in hindsight, it was to give the local teams the best advantage. A travel blog entry by ianvictoria on Mar 16, 2009

We actually arrived in Dongxing (Chinese border) on Sunday night. Thtis was quite worrying as our guide book told us that there are only 3 border crossings to Vietnam from China and this wasn't one of them. Any way, we knew that we wanted to go to 'Hanoi', and that 1 word was as ...

Anyway, I managed to chat briefly on the phone with the English teacher (Jamie) who will be helping me with my mission tomorrow. Gonna meet her tomorrow and off we go! In the meantime, I have nothing to do and found this internet cafe near the hotel, hence this boring entry. The weather here is very mild which is a ...

    The terraced rice fields

... is sublime. Narrow rice fields cascading down the mountain reflecting various colours. You've gotta get up early to go as the view becomes spoilt after midday and the trek takes about an hour and a half. Go too early though, and everything is covered in fog. The bus ride is quite cool, going through a few villages and picking up locals on the way. Some awesome views too that ...
