... a noodle dish.
Luke and I went back another night, but lacked the mandarin to order the noodles, but we managed to get the lamb and some chinese beers. That same night we also managed to catch a live crab that was escaping from th restaurant. This was extremely entertaining for the other diners.
There are not alot of foriegners in Shijiazhuang. We were a real novelty. When luke was outside some ...
Mr. Fu who's giving us a ride from Beijing turns out to be a businessman driving to Shijiazhuang for a meeting. Once he got comfortable with us he agrees to take us all the way to Shijiazhuang. The visibility is about 50 feet with heavy down pour as he drives slowly south. Both Liu Chang and I can't believe we're finally on the road. We seriously considered spending the night at the motel at the gas station. That would have been downright depressing!

*Field Day/Relays outside- We met in the classroom- I drew

... biggie, we were almost out anyway. Birthday and Marriage *Went to a nice restaurant and had sushi for Sam's bday. It was soo good- I've missed sushi. Our Chinese friend Eileen surprised me with a text message that said she got married and she wanted us to meet her husband. So we went to "the boat restaurant" to celebrate Grandma & Grandpa *Our new friend John (lives in our apt building and is helping the new Korean students get adjusted) invited us to have dinner at his ...

Shijiazhuang, China chinatravel... the most painfully delightful foot massage ever. She worked my legs and ankles and feet. I believe that she could have been the strongest woman in China because at some points her massage brought tears into my eyes from her pushing into my flesh! Then I flipped over and she did my back and shoulders. She worked my shoulders so hard that at one point she pushed all the air out of my lungs. She cracked my back with me lying on my side and ...
Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China billiechristine... You can't have too much of a good thing because Sunday both Willie and I became sick. Willie had a fever and I probably had a fever I just never took my temp, but i was shivering and sweating and my skin hurt to touch. We all have been feeling terrible for about 3 days now. Between the stomach pains when you don't know if you are hungry or going to explode, the endless trips to the bathroom, and the turning the air conditioner on and off 20 times a night... we were miserable. We went ...

Shijiazhuang, China trow814I apologize for the delay in the blog- I don't think that the Chinese government wanted me to have it! I have finally found a site that allows me to access it and thus bring you up to speed on China. I have been here less than a week but have already experienced so many things that my head is still spinning!
Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China billiechristine... Food: You probably saw this coming. Last night we were invited by the fellow who is in charge of scientific research for the province and had a meal highlighted by - wait for it ... -- dumplings! And a local liquor that we have been served before that is 42% alcohol and is remarkably similar in taste - although much smoother than - the "white lightening" made famous in my home state during prohibition. And the tradition of "gombay!" ("bottoms up ...
