... as you can see, the driver managed to gear down on the slimy slopes, and keep all six wheels from slipping into oblivion! This was the second time today I narrowly escaped an uncertain fate.

Once in Huixian, one more incident complete a most surreal day. My bus dropped me and a few few others off adjacent to a local bus station. Flagging down a cab to take me to the railway station is an innocent thing to do. The driver must have thought so ...

From our window seats ...

... Chinese staff was finally able to find a sneaker store down the road. And I desperately needed new shoes since my sneakers got a hole in the back and the plastic was rubbing the back of my foot. We took a quick taxi ride, which didn't even cost a dollar and I was able to find a nice pair of sneakers for a decent price. Lunch was once again in the cafeteria. It was okay, basically Chinese cafeteria food. In the afternoon it was time to pack everything up and get ready ...

... China with his family. He was asking me where I was from and when I said PA he said his father was originally from PA, more specifically Scranton! I couldn't believe it!! Usually no one has even heard of where I'm from, let alone have a personal connection. As I was going back down to the conference room I noticed a small golden dog sitting in the laundry room of our building. As many of you know I absolutely ...
